Client: |   | Network Rail |
Location: |   | Swansea Road South Wales |
Construction time: |   | 4 weeks |
The A48 is the main road through the village of Pontlliw and as such, access had to be maintained at all times for both vehicles and pedestrians throughout the 4 week construction programme. The interface with the general public therefore had to be carefully managed taking into consideration general health and safety measures, noise and air pollution levels and 24 hour site security.
As anyone who works on the railway infrastructure will know, health and safety management is at the forefront of everyone's thinking, this coupled with the close proximity of the public, the inclement February weather and the complexity of the job (particularly the underside of the bridge) meant that Supablast employees and management had to be on the top of their game to ensure that this project was completed safely, on time and on budget.
